Nashville, Tennessee is home to delicious food, fun activities and so many Honky Tonks! But, it’s also home to an abundance of hotels right on or near Broadway. So, how do you choose the right hotel for a fantastic stay in Music City? I’ve just returned from a trip to Nashville and I am excited to share a fantastic hotel for your next trip, the Tempo by Hilton Nashville Downtown.
About the Tempo

The Tempo brand of Hilton was something that was new for me. While I am a Hilton Honors member, I had never heard of or stayed at a Tempo hotel before. Tempo launched just recently and is all about offering a modern experience through lifestyle partnerships and design. You can find new Tempo by Hilton properties in New York, San Diego and even a second Nashville location in Midtown.
Location
The Tempo by Hilton Nashville Downtown is located less than 1 block away from Broadway and within a half mile of Bridgestone Arena.

You can get to the end of the Broadway strip in about 7-8 minutes, making this a super convenient spot. The other advantage is that it isn’t directly on Broadway so it has that tucked away feel.
Theme/Decor
The Tempo by Hilton Nashville Downtown is a modern hotel with tons of musical inspiration and art-deco inspired decor. The hotel shows off its roots in Music City through the photographs in the hallways of the hotel.

I was on the 15th floor, which was themed to women in country music. All of the spaces in the hotel exuded glamour and the soul of Nashville. All of the aesthetics begin with the large lobby on the 5th floor that is detailed with florals, jewel-tones and golden accents.

At night, the lobby is transformed into a chic bar-like atmosphere, complete with live music like the best of the honky tonks downtown. It was nice to sit around the lobby and listen to live music. Shout out to Dylan Farrell who was playing in the lobby of the Tempo when I visited. These musicians play awesome sets so always try to tip them when you can if you like what they are playing.
Room

The room that I had at the Tempo by Hilton Nashville Downtown was a standard two queen bed room. This room was 380 sq. ft. and included two queen beds, a 65 inch TV, a mini-fridge, bath amenities, and a hair dryer. The coolest feature in the room? A BLUETOOTH SPEAKER IN THE BATHROOM MIRROR! I didn’t use it but it was super cool and a fun touch in this modern hotel room.

The Tempo Hotel offers an exclusive type of mattress, which is a Sealy Accelerate mattress and extremely comfortable. I also really enjoyed the dual shower heads in the shower and the modern, spacious feel of the bathroom. The room does come with a coffee maker and some pour over coffee packets as well.
Overall, I really enjoyed the modern vibe of the room. It was spacious and comfortable which made for a nice retreat at the end of the day.
Room Views

After checking into the Tempo extremely early, I was just happy to get whatever room would be available. But, boy was I in for a treat? Given its location near Broadway, my room actually faced Bridgestone Arena, the Music City Center and the Welcome to Nashville sign. It was so beautiful every morning waking up to a beautiful view of Nashville. Every evening, you could see the rooftops all lit up with people spending their time on Broadway. My side of the building did face this awesome view but there wasn’t a different room category for a Broadway view so keep that in mind.
Dining Options
The Tempo by Hilton Nashville Downtown featured a grab and go cafe that served coffee and treats. It was called Bluestone Lane and it is accessible via the first floor or an outside entrance on the corner of Commerce and Rosa L Parks Boulevard.

Bluestone Lane Cafe did also serve some limited breakfast offerings but it wasn’t my type of menu for breakfast. I did try this for some coffee and a snack and both were really good and the location was nice.

A Tip When Staying at Tempo Nashville…

One thing I thought was a great thing to do at the Tempo was in regards to water. That’s right, drinking water! While it’s always easy to go grab a bottle of water, the Tempo offers a different alternative. In the small store, the Tempo sells reusable, stainless steel water bottles for $14. Throughout the hotel, you’ll find refill stations. Specifically on your room floor as well as in the lobby. One water bottle costs about $6 in their store, so this actually saves you some money. Plus, a portion of the proceeds of the water bottle sales go to building water filtration towers around the world. You’ll feel like you are doing something good and saving a bit of money, how bad could that be?
