Fall at Walt Disney World

One of my favorite times of year to visit Walt Disney World is during the fall. Between the typically lower crowds (except for certain weekends and on Halloween) and festive decor, Walt Disney World is the place to be to feel all the fall vibes. So you may be wondering, what makes fall so special at Disney? Keep reading to learn about all of the fun to be had.

Events:

Magic Kingdom- Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

On select nights from mid-August to November 1st, guests can attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. Don your Halloween best while you trick-or-treat in the most Magical Place on Earth. Children and adults can wear costumes (which is pretty special since adults are usually not allowed to wear costumes to the parks) and head into the Magic Kingdom for this special ticketed event. Besides trick-or-treating, which I mean if your an adult, can be pretty awesome, you can also meet characters, watch a special fireworks show and parade, Plus, if all of that doesn’t sound awesome enough, the wait times for rides are so much shorter since you need a special Halloween Party ticket to enter the park. Don’t forget to visit the special photopass locations throughout Magic Kingdom Park to get into the Halloween spirit. For example, meet up with the HitchHiking Ghosts behind Liberty Square for a special Magic Shot. The party begins at 7pm, but guests with Halloween Party tickets are allowed to enter the park starting at 4pm, allowing you to maximize your time. My tip for the Halloween Party: try to book some fast passes before the 6pm cut-off time. That way- you can ride a few rides before the party even begins and then at 6pm when the park starts to empty out, you can grab a bite to eat and be ready to party at 7pm!

EPCOT- International Food & Wine Festival

Running from August to mid-November, EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival allows visitors to eat and drink their way around the world. Guests can visit over 30 kitchen booths from different countries and regions. Whether you want to try some Italian food, head on over to the Caribbean or drink in Mexico, EPCOT has something for you. While at the World Showcase, guests can pick up a festival passport, a special festival gift card and mark off which countries they have visited. These outdoor kitchens feature some delicious food, so be sure to skip lunch and head to EPCOT instead. Some festival favorites include the Lamb Chop in Australia, the Ribs in Italy and Filet in Canada. Besides providing food and drink options, the festival is home to Eat to the Beat, which is a concert series that takes place in the American Gardens Theater. Performers at Eat to the Beat include major recording artists like Hanson, 98 Degrees, Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth and many, many more.

Decorations & Food:

Magic Kingdom- Decorations

As I mentioned, Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park is in full Halloween mode for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. But, MK is also donning it’s Fall best thanks to all of the fun decorations that can be found around the park. From the Mickey wreaths on the light posts, pumpkins and banners that are scattered around the park, Fall is definitely in the air at Magic Kingdom. In addition, the entrance to the park features orange colored banners and pumpkins galore. There are details everywhere to keep the fall spirit alive so be sure you look around!

Disney Springs- Decorations & Food

Everyone loves spending time in Disney Springs. Between all of the food options and shopping, it is a destination in itself. And Disney Springs is jumping on the fall bandwagon this year with special decorations around the area that are perfect photo spot locations. You will find tons of decorations with the phrase “Fall into Magic at Disney Springs.” These decorations feature pumpkins and greenery. While I visited, I was able  to spot 3 or 4 of these set up around Disney Springs. They make super cute backdrops for photos so be sure to look for them when you visit. In addition to these fun decorations, there is a special event happening this fall at Disney Springs- WonderFall Flavors at Disney Springs, There is a map/guide that shows all of the restaurants in Disney Springs that feature items with fall flavors or special fall inspired items. This might not be every restaurant but there are over 30 participants so it’s a lot of food.

Disney Resort Hotels

Wherever you decide to stay during your visit to Walt Disney World, be on the lookout for fall touches. Right now at WDW, you can get a Halloween themed Resort Refillable Mug at any of the WDW Resorts. In addition, some resorts have some special fall themed treats. For example, head over to Port Orleans: French Quarter to try the Pumpkin Spice Beignets and Disney’s All-Star Music and All-Star Movies Resorts to try the Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake, through November 30th. Plus, Joffrey’s coffee, which is available at the parks and resorts, has some Pumpkin Spice special drinks to check out.

Well there you have it, some of the fall touches that can be found at the Walt Disney World Resort. Whether you are digging those pumpkin spice vibes or just want to pose for a cute picture, Disney has something to fulfill your fall feels.
