New Cruises to Watch in 2023

2022 was the year that the cruise industry saw a boost. From COVID restrictions dropping to capacities increasing, guests were able to board their favorite ships once again. While 2022 brought people back, 2023 will introduce some new ships to the major cruise lines fleet. 

Let’s explore 3 new ships that are launching in 2023 that you should be watching. 

Norwegian Viva

Launching in June 2023, the Norwegian Viva will be the newest member of the Prima class ships in the Norwegian fleet. Home to some new features such as Ocean Boulevard, new dining venues like Surfside Cafe and The Commodore Room and the world’s first three-level race track at sea, the NCL Viva will be a totally unique cruise experience.

Accommodations look like nothing seen at sea before featuring spacious balcony rooms, sleek studios and of course, Norwegian’s exclusive Haven area. Kicking off its inaugural season in Europe and then homeporting in Puerto Rico, Norwegian Cruise Line’s new Viva ship is a destination in itself to explore. 

Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady

Scheduled to launch in May 2023, following a postponed launch in August 2022, the Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady is the 3rd ship in the new, unique, Virgin Voyages cruise line. Known for their different take on cruising, guests can expect to find a wide range of dining options onboard such as the Mediterranean Dock House and the American Diner. Expected to follow a similar theme to its predecessors, the Resilient Lady will offer pop-up entertainment experiences as well as an emphasis on fitness and relaxation.

Accommodations onboard will be primarily composed of ocean view cabins including balcony rooms. Solo travelers are welcome as well as those looking for the real lush experience with a Mega RockStar suite. First debuting on the Scarlet Lady, cabins will include a “seabed” to make the most of space. Resilient Lady will start her inaugural season by homeporting in Athens and then repositioning to San Juan, Puerto Rico. 

Carnival Jubilee

The “Fun Ships” are welcoming the new party animal into their fleet in 2023. Sister ship to the Carnival Mardi Gras and the Carnival Celebration, the new Carnival Jubilee will welcome more than 5,000 passengers onboard. Home to activities such as the BOLT: Ultimate Coaster in Sea, Family Feud Live and the RedFrog Tiki Bar, the Carnival Mardi Gras will have both beloved and new venues to explore. Dining venues such as Rudi’s Seagrill, Chibang! And of course, Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse|Brewhouse, you’ll never be hungry on this ship.

Accommodations include the popular Havana Interior rooms, with themed decor and exclusive perks such as an exclusive Havana Pool Area. Other rooms include the Family Harbor Ocean View rooms with nautical decor, Havana Cabana and Cloud 9 Balconies and a myriad of suites for any budget. The all-new Carnival Jubilee will set sail in 2023 from Galveston, Texas becoming the largest ship to homeport in Texas.
