The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida is often thought as the premier destination for kids and their families to visit. But who says it is only for kids? Whether you are five or eighty five, being a kid at heart is easy at Disney!
Now you may be wondering, I’m an adult, what is there for me to do in Disney? Well, there is plenty! Whether you are looking to relax or escape on an extreme adrenaline rush, the sky’s the limit!
Have a Drink…. Or Two…. Or the World’s Worth?
Welcome to EPCOT. While it’s fun to visit the World Showcase and see a glimpse at different countries, it’s also a pretty cool concept to attempt to drink around the world. Now you’re probably thinking, that sounds crazy! But, it’s actually a popular feat to attempt. EPCOT’s World Showcase consists of 11 countries, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Japan, the United States, Italy, Germany, China, Norway and Mexico, each boasting their countries signature drinks. So go ahead, grab a margarita and a beer… (or three) and see if you can “Drink Around the World.”
Festival Fun
Sticking to EPCOT, let’s talk about the festival’s that are hosted in this park. There are four festivals during the year, the International Festival of the Arts, the International Flower and Garden Festival, the International Food and Wine Festival and the Festival of the Holidays. Each one has a unique theme and offers fun kiosks to taste and drink different delicacies from specific regions or countries. While the kids will definitely enjoy seeing the decorations during each festival, the adults will enjoy the food, drink, music and details associated with each.
Heart Racing Rides
The Disney Parks aren’t just home to rides like It’s a Small World. Depending on the Disney Park, you can jam out to Aerosmith on a roller coaster, accompany Snow White’s Seven Dwarfs through their diamond mine or even take an adventure to outer space!
Pamper Yourself
Looking for a day to pamper yourself? You have options galore across the Walt Disney World Resort. There are three spas on property at the Grand Floridian, Saratoga Springs and the Walt Disney Dolphin hotel. Each offer unique ways to indulge yourself in luxury.
Take a Trip to Disney Springs
Disney Springs, formerly known as Downtown Disney, is the hot spot for shopping, dining and nightlife for adults. With the recent expansion, Disney has added some fun spots that adults will love such as the Boathouse and Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. Be sure to hop on a bus from your Disney resort and spend the day in Disney Springs.
Unleash Your Inner Kid
Let’s face it…. No matter how much you try, you’re at Disney, so why not unleash your inner kid. Buy a pair of Disney ears, rock a tee shirt with your favorite character, geek out during character meetings and have fun! Because that’s what Disney is all about!
